Since I first came across the Franklin Christoph website, I’ve wanted to own one of their Italian Ice demonstrator fountain pens; it’s been a long wait (they sell out very quickly) but at long last I have one. Continue reading “Model 31 Italian Ice by Franklin Christoph”

The Chinese Kangaroo – The Kaigelu 316
The Kaigelu 316 is a pen I had been thinking of ordering for some time but for some reason I just never got round to it and last December I took the plunge and ordered the orange version and the pen arrived just before Christmas and it is now inked and sitting on the desk. Continue reading “The Chinese Kangaroo – The Kaigelu 316”
Surprise Of The Year 2020 – The Opus 88 Demonstrator
When I look back over 2020 I’ve written about a lot of different things and I’ve been very impressed by all of them from the Classiky Desktop Toolbox to the Harry Potter notebooks from Primark. So, it was very difficult to pick one out of the many that really surprized me and stood out as something different. But after much deliberation I have chosen the Opus 88 Demonstrator eyedropper fountain pen. Continue reading “Surprise Of The Year 2020 – The Opus 88 Demonstrator”

And over forty years ago the imagination of Haruo Umeda (aka Mr Fountain Pen) created the Platinum 3776 Gathered and since its creation it has stood out as a truly unique fountain pen; if it wasn’t most of us would probably never have heard of it. Stationery by Anand Prakash
I first heard about Anand Prakash a few years ago when I read a footnote in a review of Indian fountain pens; the note was very complimentary and talked about how old blueprints had been saved and recycled into notebook covers and the like. I was intrigued by this and took a trip to the website and sure enough there were the blueprint notebooks and a whole host of other wonderful things. I purchased a few items as gifts and was very impressed and then this year I ordered quite a few things and decided to review them. Continue reading “Stationery by Anand Prakash”

Camlin Pencils vs Nataraj Pencils
My curiosity about Indian pencils started a few years ago when I read Priya’s review of the Nataraj Marble Pencil at The London Parchment, I was impressed and promptly scoured eBay where found them for sale by the barrel. Each barrel contains a hundred pencils at an insanely reasonable price; and yes, you guessed it, I bought them. In fact, I bought two so now I own two hundred marble pencils!
