Autumn & Hallowe’en Inks

Today it is time to look at some colours for Autumn and Hallowe’en and for this post I have chosen four inks:

  • 6 Fox by Berlin Notebook
  • Autumn Sunlight by Dominant Industry for Cult Pens
  • Orange Crush by Private Reserve
  • Shoreline Gold by Private Reserve

The choice of these colours was inspired by the naturally occurring colours found at this time of year.

No. 6 Fox is a wonderful brown with a hint of orange that really does live up to its namesake and coming from Berlin Notebook you can rest assured that it is a high-quality ink that is a pleasure to use.

Autumn Sunlight, this ink does have a lovely golden tone just like the sunlight at this time of year; it is also a perfect match for some of the leaves that have fallen, as seen in my attempt at a seasonal photograph. I found it a nice ink to use and if you are looking for a good yellow ink for decorating Hallowe’en invitations or in a few weeks, Christmas cards this is one to consider.

Orange Crush. I must admit that I bought this ink because I like orange inks and this one is a wonderful deep orange that is ideal for anything Hallowe’en. It’s one of those inks that I find I just keep on wanting to use.

Shoreline Gold. This is my pumpkin ink for this year; I can be certain of that, having compared it to a pumpkin. Not being a deep orange like Orange Crush means that you can build up the depth of colour to suit your preference/project.

My final thoughts are that whilst you can load a pen and write as much as you want with any of these inks they are probably better suited to more artistic pursuits; so if you want colours for a seasonal project these four are definitely worth considering.

Disclaimer: The inks were purchased at retail price. The opinions expressed in this review are my own; and I am not connected with either the retailers or manufacturers in any way.
