Inks Of The Season – Christmas

Christmas is now a matter of days away, to be precise, as I write, in nineteen days it will be Christmas Eve and so I thought that this time I would choose a small range of colours that to me are part of Christmas.

Once again I delved into my many boxes of inks, and along the way discovered fourteen bottles of ink I didn’t know I had, and came up with four colours. I stopped at four despite having about twelve on the desk because it is a busy time of year for everyone and asking anyone to read a long post would be a little unfair to say the least.

So, these are my choices for the Christmas season:

Pennonia ‘Sour Cherry’ – This deep burgundy red always reminds me of mulled wine or a glass of port, always a great help when counting out the mince pies for Mr Claus.

Diamine Blue Edition Midnight Hour – Is a wonderful deep dark blue that is the same colour as the sky on a winters night just before it goes black.

Diamine Blue Edition Ho Ho Ho – Whilst I have no doubt this one was inspired by Mr Clause it is also the same colour as the berries on a Holly bush or the feathers on a Robin.

Montblanc Irish Green – This is one of my favourite colours and whenever I see it I always think of Holly and Christmas Trees.

So those are my seasonal colours; I chose them because they make me smile and I hope they do the same for you. They are colours you can use to brighten up anything you are doing over the festive season and all of them in one way or another remind me of the lights and decorations that go on the Christmas tree.

Just one last thing, if you are looking for a stocking filler or just to treat yourself any one of these inks would make a wonderful gift.

Disclaimer: The inks were purchased with my own funds, at retail price. The opinions expressed in this review are my own; and I am not connected with either the retailers or manufacturers in any way.
