Ink Of The Month – April ‘21 – Diamine Cherry Sunburst

Ink of the month for April comes from the Diamine Guitar Series.

Cherry Sunburst is not what I expected from its name; instead of being a bright cherry red or similar what you get is a colour somewhat similar to gingerbread.

When testing the Q-Tip test gave a nice even colour and the stripe test just built depth of colour with each layer giving a stronger colour which I would say has a hint of orange to it.

The drying time test confirmed this is definitely a wet ink, the test was carried out in a warm room and it took around thirty seconds to fully dry.

Writing with this ink is a very nice experience, it flows evenly and is sufficiently saturated to produce a good even coloured text.

I enjoyed using this ink even though it was not the colour I was expecting. I am very pleased with the results of the text test and I am definitely going to load a pen with this ink and put it into rotation for the next few weeks. It’s one of those colours that just grabs your attention and doesn’t let go; so, if you are currently thinking of dabbling in brown inks then this is definitely one to consider.

Disclaimer: The ink was purchased with my own funds at retail price. The opinions expressed in this review are my own; and I am not connected with either the retailers or manufacturers in any way.
