This month I have chosen Herbin’s Bleu Des Profondeurs because I thought it might be nice to have a slightly more formal ink for a change. The sort of ink that would be suitable for use at work or at home or at any point in between.
According to Google the literal translation of Bleu Des Profondeurs is ‘blue depths’ and this is something Herbin have achieved. What you get is a really good deep blue, not so deep that you are straying into blue/black territory but still deep enough for your writing to be a rich dark blue.
Like all the Herbin inks I have tried it is well behaved, it flows well, and I have not experienced any skipping or hard starts.
When it comes to Herbin inks they have always been my go to inks when I have a pen that is not performing as it should and, so far, Herbin has always been the solution. For instance, when I bought my Kaweco Brass Sport it was very hit and miss when I was using it so much so that I thought of returning it as faulty until I put a Herbin cartridge in it and ever after it has been totally reliable.
It’s this type of reliability that leads me to recommend Herbin inks and Bleu Des Profondeurs is no exception. So, if you are looking for a reliable deep blue ink that is suitable for everyday everywhere then look no further.
