As Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching and it’s one of those times of the year that chocolates are in abundance, I thought it only fitting that this month’s ink should be a chocolate brown ink.
So, the other day when shopping for some Sailor Jentle inks with Pure Pens I dipped into their own brand page and found Beddgelert, a new addition and as luck would have its chocolate brown.
Beddgelert takes its name from the story of Prince Llywelyn’s hound Gelert, which it is said was a gift from King John of England; and Pure Pens have mixed an ink to resemble Gelerts fur.
When I did the swab test the ink, as you can see, does come out as a very nice mid-brown. The writing test is a simple dip and write affair, but I noticed that this, like their other inks, was very well behaved and flowed well putting down an even colour slightly darker than the swab, which is to be expected. All in all this is a very nice ink to write with and I suspect it would also work very well for sketching.
So if you’re looking for a chocolate gift for someone but want something different then this ink at £6.99 for 60ml is an absolute bargain.
I’ve now tried several of the Pure Pens inks and each one has been a pleasure to use and I can happily recommend them.
