A Little More Magic From Muji – An EDC Grab Bag

This is just a quick review of a collapsible case I picked up in Muji; the staff told me that these are now discontinued so it’s a case of get them while you can.

They are lightweight cases with a two-way zip, a mesh front you can see through, a rear pocket, a carry handle (on the long edge) and comes in two sizes; suitable for roughly A5 and A4. The latter, I was told, has proved really popular as it doubles as a laptop case for 13” laptops.

Like everything in Muji it is well made and is going to last you many years and I decided to test the build quality by filling it with as much as I could. For this I decided to test the A5 version, the image below gives some idea of the size having a notebook, pen roll and ruler in it.

This next image is a side view after I added a further notebook, a Post-it pad and a Nock Sinclair and there was still room for another small notebook and pen case.

Still not full!

What’s nice about this case is the sides are made from a soft material and are designed to collapse to reduce the amount of space it takes up; as you can see it can hold a lot or a little dependent upon your needs.

I’d been looking for a long time for a grab bag/case for notebooks, stationery etc. that I could drop into a backpack and this ticks that box.

Right now, they are definitely worth the pennies so if you want one go and get it now; they won’t be on the shelves for long.
