Today I am independently declaring as Terry Pratchett Day.
It’s been three years since my friend died and even though I never knew him or he me, he was still my friend.
No matter how bad life was I could come home at the end of the day and pick up one of his books and be cheered up.
I’ll never know if Terry ever realised how many lives he brightened, how many people he saved from the darkness, but he did.
And now he is gone I feel it more keenly than before. One of the biggest regrets I have is that I never got to say hello to him and let him know how important he is to me.
Wherever you are Terry, thank you for everything you did for me and many many others, we miss you so much.
So, today pick up one of Terry’s books, read a few or a lot of pages and raise a glass to our absent friend,
“No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away…”
